1) Is there any Discount in the registration fees if we joined as team?

Yes, if you join as a team of 2 or 3, then there will be a discount as follows:

Rs 2500/- for a single person entry
Rs 5000/- for a two member team
Rs 6000/- for a three member team

2) Will there be any training provided?

No, however based on the requests we have received so far we plan to conduct workshops, details of the workshop will be communicated to the participants individually.

3) What do you mean by a Free BMC kit and what does it contain?

BMC (Biometric Challenge) kit will be provided to the participants upon registration and payment. The kit enables participants to do the needful for the competition.

It contains the following:

• A special biometric scanner
• Drivers for the same.
• The basic .dlls that allow you to access the scanner.
• Documents for .dlls.
• Sample Codes.
• Write-up on objective.
• Fingerprint as a biometric presentation, Pattern matching (image processing) primer, Minutiae matching primer.
• Instructions on scanner installation.
• .Net environment.
• Trial version of Visual Studio.
• Winlogon(GINA) Application For later use of the finger print scanner.

4) Can more than one person involve themselves with the project with a single person registering?

It’s purely up to you but only the registered person will be eligible for participation certificates/prizes.

5) When will we receive the BMC kit? (In all Modes of payments)

If you chose to pay by cheque / DD mode, it will take two weeks from the receipts of the payments.
If you have opted to collect it from Precision offices, you can collect the kit from our offices anytime after the registration. Before going to the office to collect the kit, please call to us to confirm availability of the kit.
If you chose cash on delivery, the kit will reach you within two weeks time from the date of registration.

6) Is there any specific format for finger print or specific software to develop the projects?

The Drivers and software provided are guaranteed to work on Microsoft Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 systems. There are no guarantees for versions of Linux and later versions of Windows (Vista, 7, 2008 server). However, you may develop on a non-Microsoft Windows platform. (Clearly state which platform you are using in the documentation) There is no restriction on which developing language you use for the purpose of this competition. (Clear basic documentation along with ALL code should be provided)

7) What can I do with the scanner after the competition is over?

A GINA (Winlogon) application is provided with the kit. You can use the scanner and this application to login into your Windows account without using a password and by just swiping your finger.
