Terms and conditions

  • You are allowed to download and use any open source tools/software you may find. However, you have to submit the complete code.
  • DLL’s and other libraries are allowed; provided they are written by you for the purpose of this project and the code for the same are also submitted.
  • The entries will have to include 25 different fingerprint images, complete code, basic documentation of your code and results obtained by you. We will evaluate your code against our baseline fingerprint repository with us.
  • Weightage will be given for both accuracy and speed for the extraction and matching modules
  • Rules have been kept to a minimum as the evaluation will just not be based on the results, but on your understanding of the concepts that you will be exhibiting through your documentation and code. While we encourage you to focus on end results, please keep in mind that it only carries a partial weightage.
  • Each registrant will be provided with one Unique ID which should be used for all correspondence with us and provided with the files you upload.
  • Winners will be contacted via their registered email address and/or mobile number
  • Entries must be submitted through the website only.
  • All Texts must be written in English.
  • Any medical condition of a participant that may pose restrictions on travel must be reported at the time of registration.
  • General criteria for the evaluation will be drawn from:
    • Originality and Creativity
    • Relevance
    • Scientific Accuracy
    • Clarity

Our Guarantee

The Drivers and software provided are guaranteed to work on Microsoft Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 systems. There are no guarantees for versions of Linux and later versions of Windows (Vista, 7, 2008 server). However, you may develop on a non-Microsoft Windows platform. (Clearly state which platform you are using in the documentation)

There is no restriction on which developing language you use for development. (Clear basic documentation should be provided)

The Fine Print

The following rules shall apply, together with any instructions or rules specific to any current competition. By entering any of our competitions, you are deemed to have accepted the following:

  • Competition is open to all college students nationwide. Except for Precision Infomatic and its sister concerns’ employees, their relatives and anyone professionally connected with the prize offered in this competition. The Precision Group reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
  • To qualify for and be entered into any of our competitions, you must complete the registration process correctly.
  • By taking part in the competition, you warrant that all information submitted is true, current and complete at the time of submission.
  • It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your details and e-mail address are accurate, and that The Precision Group is informed of any changes to these. The Precision Group accepts no responsibility for any changes which are not properly notified from the time of submission of your entry to the time of notification that the prize has been awarded.
  • All entries are the property of The Precision Group. By entering the competition, you thereby assign absolutely the copyright and all other rights in the entry for the full period of the copyright.
  • The Precision Group reserves the right to disqualify your entry if it is incomplete or if there are reasonable grounds to believe that you have breached any of these rules.
  • All prizes are non-transferable.
  • The Precision Group reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
  • All taxes, insurances, transfers and other expenses resulting from the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner unless otherwise stated.
  • Failure to claim a prize within the time or in the manner specified may result in disqualification and the selection of an alternative winner.
  • The Precision Group reserves the right to alter, amend or close the competition as necessary.
  • In the case of any disputes regarding these rules, or the rules or instructions of a specific competition, the decision of The Precision Group will be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Organisers reserve the right to unrestricted publication of the competition entries without fee to the originators.
  • Violation of these rules will lead to the immediate disqualification of the entry.
  • The deliberations of the jury are confidential,
  • The decisions by the jury are final and cannot be brought before a court of justice.
  • Entries must be received on or before the closing date stated on the competition or will be deemed to be invalid.
  • In the event of a tie in games or competitions, a random draw may be conducted to determine an overall winner or a tie-break question may be used.
  • Winners may be obliged to take part in publicity associated with winning a prize.
  • Proof of posting is not proof of delivery.
  • By entering any competitions, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted that we may contact them about the competition, and any future competitions and promotions, and that they have accepted these rules and any additional rules listed on the individual competition page.
  • Each participant can submit only one entry. Submission of multiple entries will lead to exclusion from the competition.
  • You will need to guarantee that your entry contains only original content, or that you have obtained any necessary copyright permission. By uploading your content to the site, you agree to share (let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work), and remix derivative works based upon it (only if they give you credit for it, share it alike and for noncommercial purposes) This will allow it to be displayed in public at the awards ceremony or elsewhere by the organizers, for example.
  • All entries will be moderated by a panel of experts to ensure that it does not contain harmful or illegal content. The moderators’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The competition and these rules are governed by Indian Law.
